The many faces of St. Francis from the Basilica

Chaplet of the Holy Face of Jesus

Make the sign of the Cross, and say:

O God, incline unto my aid.
O Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

There are five groups of eight prayers. Each group represents one of Jesus five senses: touch, hearing, sight, smell, and taste. For each group of prayers think on Jesus' face in the Passion and how that sense would have felt. At the beginning of each group pray

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

and then devoutly pray,

My Jesus, mercy!

As you meditate on each of Jesus' senses and how that was reflected in his face during the Passion,
repeat prayerfully, six times, this petition :

Arise, O Lord, and let Thy enemies be scattered, and they that hate Thee flee from before Thy Face.

At the end of meditating on the senses of Jesus, add three more repetitions of the above "Arise" prayer, to bring the total to 33, one for each year of Our Lord's earthly life, on each of these last three, think about the wounds in His holy face from the slaps He endured, and from the crown of thorns.
After all of this, repeat seven times, in honor of the 7 words of Jesus from the Cross:

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

When ending the chaplet, say:

O God, our Protector, look on us and cast Thy eyes upon the Face of Thy Christ.
